Bay State Machine Co. (BSM) is a family owned and operated business, founded in 1977, by Frank J. Basile. The business opened in a converted three-car garage in the Bay State section of Northampton, MA. The company quickly grew and moved to a larger building in the Northampton Industrial Park in Northampton, MA in 1980, and remained at that location until 2005. Frank's wife joined the company in 1989. In 2005, again needing more space, BSM renovated a building in the Easthampton Industrial Park in Easthampton, MA.
BSM currently has 30,000 square feet of manufacturing space that includes a machining floor, centrally located Inspection Department, tumbling and sandblasting, saw cutting capabilities, and a state-of-the-art air quality control system.
In 2017, Frank and Colleen stepped away from the day to day business in order to enjoy retirement. Their son and daughter, Vincent and Jennifer, assumed their roles in the company. Vincent has been with BSM since 2002, and Jennifer since 2003. All four of Frank and Colleen's grandchildren have worked in the business. The eldest, Zach, joined BSM full time after graduating college in 2017, with a degree in Criminal Justice specializing in Counterterrorism. He brings over 7 years of experience in the US Army National Guard as Infantry Reconnaissance and Forward Observer.
For over 40 years, BSM has provided quality machining services to a wide variety of industries including defense, aerospace, medical, commercial, tooling, etc. We take pride in the satisfaction of our customers and are committed to meeting and exceeding customer requirements.
